Dave Biddle Dave Biddle (being me) is an interdisciplinary artist and scholar living in the centre of a vast conspiracy (being a planetary network that breathes together). Dave is currently a SSHRC-funded PhD candidate at SFU’s School for Contemporary Arts, where his academic research is focused on the role of time-based media in contemporary processes of novopoiesis (being the cultural production of novel modes of cultural production). As such, Dave’s art practice engages with collective experiences of daydreaming (being that he’s interested in their novopoietic potential), which leads him to work interdisciplinarily with moving image, text, music, and performance. Ultimately, his (being my) research endeavors to synthesize ideas from theoretical biology, philosophy of mind, biosemiotics, and second-order cybernetics with the hope of producing artworks (being otherworldly artifacts) that reflect a new metaphysics (being pataphysical). Throughout all this productive labour I (being Dave) take lots of time away from academic research to consider the lilies (being being). davesoasis.cargo.site
